Inheritance (Aggie Ebrahimi Bazaz) 2012 TRT: 26:54
One family’s journey to cohere the detritus of divorce and Revolution into an Iranian American identity.
“Inheritance” poetically explores the influence of political realities on lived, daily experience. Iranian-born filmmaker, Aggie Ebrahimi Bazaz, intimately explores the contemporaneous events of Islamic Revolution and divorce that uprooted her family and embroiled them in the complicated process of diasporic identity formation in the U.S. Inside her mother’s home, Aggie follows the collected remnants of this journey to investigate what is lost, what is gained, and what is carried over in the crossing.
